Safari Saturday

Today we took grandpa and grandma, or should I say they took us, to Sandusky. We started early to the African Safari Zoo. It was very cool! It is a drive through zoo where the animals can wander around and walk up to your car as you drive by. We got to feed the animals pellets and carrots. Carrots definately made your car more popular. Among the animals that we got a close encounter with were deer, llamas, alpacas, a moose, buffalo (close family members will understand why meeting an actual buffalo was so special for me, hahaha!), and zebra. The highlight was having buffalo enter our van window. They are so big and slobbery. One "buff-low" drooled all over my pant leg and freaked Caleb out who was riding in the front with me. (We were only going like 1 mph, no worries).

After the Safari, we went to Cedar Point......for the boat show. My mom got a new job so my dad is looking for a new toy, lol! But alas, the boats on display were beautiful, but not for the average joe. My dad fell in love with a little number with a price tag of a half of million. We did see a boat that the yacht my brother worked on towed for "fun". The extra "fun" boat was almost $200,000! And Chris was allowed to drive it around Newport, RI on his off-time. :) It was hard for me though to be interested in boats when I could hear the screams of frightened children on the Raptor, hear the Halloween music from the park, smell the carnival food, and watch the coasters. Alas, my parents could not be convinced to go to the park, so we headed home to have dinner downtown at Easy Street Cafe.

A long, fun, good day with all of the family!

Two big buffalo begging for carrots. Ew, they got drool on my dashboard and freaked out my son, that picture to follow.

Caleb eating a carrot and telling us how "scary' the "buff-low" was.

Emmaline in her car seat after dinner. I just love little tights and maryjanes! Anyways, she was sitting on my mom's lap in the back of the van during the Safari, and was laughing hysterically, and of course, growling profusely at all of the animals near the van. I am wondering how long she will keep the growling up. Although, Josh and I may have less to worry about on her first date if she remains a growler ;)
