Build-A-Bear Night

So I added up the hours that Josh is physically out of the house either at work, school, a hospital, or traveling to one of these and it equaled 69 hours. Add another 12-15 hours a week that he spends studying and researching patients and we are up to around 74 hours. We try to cram 4 hours of pure family time split between Josh's two days off of work each week. Today, we spent the late afternoon at the mall. I got a coupon for $5 off a stuffed animal, so we took Caleb to make a special friend for Caleb to hug when he misses his daddy.

Caleb was so excited to enter the store. As soon as he was released from his stroller seat he took off to the outfits, the stuffing station, and the bath station. We allowed him to choose one of two bear options. He chose the softer, dark brown bear. He then helped to stuff the bear by pressing the foot pedal.

After the bear was filled, he picked out his own heart and preformed the magic on it to make the heart special. (He kissed it, rubbed it on his belly, rubbed it on his cheek, ect.)

I think he had the most fun combing it at the bath station though.

Finally, daddy steered Caleb to the back of the store where most of the boy-ish sports outfits reside. Josh found an awesome Detroit Red Wings outfit for Caleb's new buddy.

We named him Wingnut, but Caleb said later in the evening "No daddy, his name is not Wingnut. It is Hockey Teddy Bear". He also yelled "GOAL!" at the bear. So cute!
